He Sleeps!
March 2, 2008

For those of you that haven’t read my personal blog: I do have to have the “lump” taken out of my right breast.  They found out that it is an abscess and the thought of having surgery sucks, however the pain being gone is an exciting thought.

Tonight my sister Trish is hanging out with me.  We put JD down in his crib at 11:00pm.  I put him on his tummy since we were going to stay in the room for a while.  Last night we learned that he falls asleep a lot faster if he’s on his tummy.  When I would leave the room after pumping I would roll him over onto his back.  He slept in 3 hour chunks last night.  He’s been on his tummy all night tonight and guess what… he’s been asleep for 5.5 hours and counting!  We have stayed up watching TV and chatting and the little guy is still sleeping.  It would make sense since I’m not sleeping too right?  Har har har.  He will grunt every once in a while and I think he’s starting to wake up to eat and then he’ll just stop and sleep more.  Looks like the problem has been that he doesn’t like sleeping on his back .  I’m not sure what to do.  I think I’ll call the nurse on Monday and get some suggestions.  We’ve really tried about everything, but you never know.  It’s amazing how since Trish put him on his tummy last night he’s gone to sleep faster and now longer too.  I’m just not sure I feel comfortable leaving him on his tummy when I’m not awake and in the same room.  Ugh… what to do, what to do.

GOOD thing that the kiddo and Jeremy are getting a full night sleep since I haven’t slept a wink yet and I’m sure I’ll be sleeping a bit tomorrow.  Because I haven’t gone into the bedroom at all Jer is probably getting the best night sleep he’s had in almost 7 weeks.  No baby monitor, no baby, and no mommy getting up to check on the baby.  Poor Jer is such a light sleeper, and I’m a heavy sleeper.  He often has to nudge me awake after JD has been crying for a while.

KK is asleep on my couch and I think Trish just dozed off on the floor.  Maybe I’ll catch a snooze too.  I’m sure JD will wake up about 15 minutes after I doze off but I don’t care.  I’m proud of his 5+ hours of sleep!!

[[JD just woke up.  5 hours and 45 minutes, it’s a record people!]]

I feel so on top of it today.  No the laundry still isn’t put away, the bed isn’t made, and I still need to work on a lot of things… BUT I did my hair today!  SHOCKER!  It’s literally been MONTHS since I’ve actually done my hair.  I’m not exaggerating, it’s been MONTHS AND MONTHS, possibly even a year.

I took pictures to prove my awesome feat.  Thank goodness for nap-times.  I will however be freakishly tired tonight because I didn’t nap with him.

I just wanted to thank you all for the Baby shower!  It was wonderful to see everyone who was able to make it out.  Little JD is lucky to be so loved already, and we can’t wait till he’s home and can use all the things he was given.

Baby Time!
January 16, 2008

At my periantologist appointment because of the headaches the doctor was worried about preclampsia getting worse.  She wanted to do an amniocentesis and when she called the OB he decided to that if she was that concerned then they should just take the baby.  She sent me straight upstairs to labor and delivery.

I sat in the waiting room for about fourty five minutes, and then they got me all set up then started me on magnesium sulfate, pitocin, and started the epidural early because they did not want to stress the heart and that all started at 430pm and its now 120am.  Last time they checked I was dilated 3 cm.  Feeling great just waiting will keep you posted.

Thanks Jeremy for typing this while I tell you what to say!  I love You!

Test Results
December 6, 2007

I’m on strict bed rest till Monday due to something abnormal with my heart echo.  I don’t know  a lot right now, I’ll find out more on Monday when I go to the Cardiologist again.

I’m sure it’s not a big deal, just wanted to let you know.

Update on Other Blog
November 20, 2007

I just don’t have the energy to update both blogs, so to see how the rest of the day went with doctors and tests just head over to my personal blog.

The one thing I didn’t go into much detail on in the other blog is the 24 hour Urine test they are making me do.  I have to “collect” ALL my urine for 24 hours then take it into the lab tomorrow for testing.  This alone grosses me out beyond belief but when you add on the disturbing fact that I have to keep it refrigerated.  EWWWWWWWW.  I seriously can’t say that enough.  EWWWWWW.

Other than that I’m on “bed-rest” now till the baby is born.  It’s not strict (yet) but I can’t work anymore and I’m supposed to try and keep my blood pressure and heart rate down.  This would be easier if I wasn’t such a stress case.  I guess that’s why they aren’t having me work.

I feel like I have a lot of doctors appointments now:

  • Normal OB Once a week
  • High Risk Specialist Once a Month
  • Heart Echo
  • Holter Monitor
  • Then Cardiologist 2 more times

Ok when I type it out it doesnt’ look that bad but I have a million little business cards in my wallet with dates and times I am going to try not to forget!

The Name Game
November 15, 2007

We think we’ve finally settled on a name.  Things could always change before he comes out and maybe we’ll have two options but I think this is it.  Jacob Dederick with the nickname J.D.

My nephew Bright is so cute.  If you ask him what the baby’s name is he’ll yell out J.D.  It’s quite cute.

15 Weeks to Go and Counting
November 1, 2007

That’s right peoples, I have hit the 25 week mark.  In 15 weeks little Uno will be here (hopefully because mommy is already done being pregnant).

I think we’ve decided on the name Jacob Arthur.  I told Jeremy I’m gonna call him JAM, I don’t think he thought it was funny.  It really doesn’t matter what we name him my entire family is going to be calling him Uno.  The nick name we’ve kind of talked about is Jay.  We’ll see when he gets here I’m sure.  Chances are we’ll change our minds before then anyway.  I know you’re wondering why we are going with the name Jacob after I found out how popular it is….  it’s Jeremy’s fault!  Kidding.  Truth is Jeremy had apparently become attached to the name already and no matter what I tried or how hard I pushed he wouldn’t budge.  So it’s Jacob.

6 Months Baby!
October 24, 2007

Today we hit our 24 week mark.  I am so happy we made it this far.  WAHOOOOO!!!!  Happy dance time!

It’s a BOY!!!

We are very excited.  The only full name we had settled on was a girls name so I guess we will just have to  start brainstorming for a boys.  We know the first name will be Jacob, so if you have any ideas for the middle name we are all ears (NO dad we will NOT name him Christopher so you can call him Chris Mauss).

Pregnancy is finally at a normal stage and even most of the nerve pain is gone for the time being.  I’m sure it’ll come back but I’ve been enjoying a few days of physical happiness.  I couldn’t sleep last night at all, anxious about the ultrasound this morning.  I was worried about everything but the gender!  The only thing we have to watch is that the baby is breech so he’ll need to get his little tush turned around before Feb.
